MTN Nigeria issues statement on retaliation for xenophobic attack in South Africa

MTN Nigeria Communications Plc (MTN) has confirmed that over the last days their facilities, customers and some of their stakeholders have been the subject of attacks in retaliation for the ongoing xenophobia situation in South Africa.

The company confirmed reports of attacks in Lagos, Ibadan, and Uyo.

MTN Nigeria reiterated its commitment to providing uninterrupted services, However, the safety and security of customers, staff, and partners is their primary concern. All MTN stores and service centers will, therefore, be closed as a precaution until further notice.

In a statement signed by Company Secretary Uto Ukpanah MTN condemns any acts of violence, prejudice and xenophobia and remains committed to ensuring a peaceful, harmonious and respectful relationship with all communities in Nigeria, and across Africa,
