NIGERIA STOCK EXCHANGE CLOSED POSITIVE NOTE, AS NSE ALL-SHARE INDEX APPRECIATED BY +0.21%

The stock market gained today as the benchmark index inched up marginally by +0.21%.  The advance means little when compared to the loss of over N415bn equity that befell the market on Tuesday through Thursday the market closed the week negative.

 

 

 

On May 7, 2021, activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on a positive note as the NSE All-share index appreciated by +0.21% to closed at 39,198.75 basis points, as against -0.81% depreciation recorded in the previous session, while market capitalization closed at N20.431 trillion. Year-to-Date (YTD) returns currently stand at -2.73%.

 

 

 

The market breadth closed negative as LINKASSURE led the 25 gainers charts for equity appreciating by 9.52% to close at current N0.69 against 17 losers topped by NEM declining by 9.50% to close at current N1.81. Market turnover closes negative as volume depreciated by -40.79% in contrast to the +15.43% up-tick recorded previously. ZENITH BANK was the most active stock to boost the market turnover list with 25512627.00 million shares worth N562201611.35 in 496 deals. unimproved performance when compared with the previous session.
