Nigeria Stock Market review and corporate news for the week ended August 16, 2019

Sentiments remained bearish in the NSE equities market, as the benchmark index went down by 1.40% WOW to close the week at 26,925.29.

 

The All Share Index closed the week at 26,925.29 basis points, Year to date, the index is down by -14.33%. sell pressure persisted across all sectors of the market, as all other indices closed the week lower with the exception of NSE Premium Index which appreciated by 0.64%. Market Capitalization close the week at N13.121 trillion.

 

Top Gainers: at the end of trading of Friday August 16, 2019 BOC Gases gained 9.87% top the gainers chart to close at N6.12, followed by FCMB N1.60, Union Diagnostic & Clinical plc N0.24, Flour mill Nigeria plc closed at N13.4, Custodian Investment Plc round-up the top five gainers of the day to close at N6.

 

Top Losers: Nascon Plc lead the losers chart declining by 10% to close at N12.60, followed by Nestle Plc to close at N1,143, Law Union & Rock Ins Plc closed at N0.33, Neimeth International Pharm Plc closed at N0.51 and Oando Plc round-up the top five losers for the day to close at N3.35.

 

 

 CORPORATE NEWS:

Guaranty Trust Bank plc released its unaudited financial account for the second quarter ended June 30, 2019. The company has Proposed Dividend N0.30k per share. Qualification Date for Ordinary Shares is Monday, 2 September 2019, while qualification date for GDR is Monday, 26 August 2019. Payment Date is Wednesday, 11 September 2019 subject to shareholders approval.

 

Flour mills Nigeria Plc price was adjusted to N12.80 on August 15, 2019 due to the payment of Dividend of N1.20 per share.

 

RAK Unit & petroleum company Plc price was adjusted to N0.30 on August 15, 2019 due to the payment of Dividend of N0.10 per share.
